Bars in Pristina will be fined from 500 to 3000 euros if they cause more noise than the allowed rate. This decision was made public earlier this week by the mayor of the municipality of Pristina, Përparim Rama.

“Today we visited the Acoustic Pollution Monitoring Room at the Capital Inspectorate. From Monday we will officially start work and based on the regulation approved in the Assembly, all gastronomy establishments in the Capital, which do not respect the allowed decibels, will be fined,” he wrote on Facebook.

The system, which will be implemented from Monday, apart from the automatic measurement, will also notify the fine for those who exceed the allowed rate, avoiding the decisions of the inspectors. Consequently, with this system, no one will be able to complain about the amount of money they will have to pay after the violation.

Mayor Rama said that Pristina is the leader in the world with this noise monitoring system.

The noise control was also welcomed by the representatives of the gastronomes. The permitted noise for gastronomy establishments will be 60 decibels. Exceeding this brings fines.

In order to receive the device, the premises had to apply to the municipality, while those who have not yet applied were told that the penalties will begin immediately.
