Nikolla meets with Quint countries’ permanent representatives in the OSCE

The Speaker of the Assembly of Albania, Lindita Nikolla, today held a working meeting with the permanent representatives of the Quint countries in the OSCE: the Ambassador of Italy, Stefano Baldi; the Ambassador of the United Kingdom, Neil Holland; the Ambassador of Germany, Susanne Schütz; the Ambassador of France, Fatène Benhabylès-Foeth; US Deputy Ambassador Katherine Brucker.

Lindita Nikolla underlined that the OSCE Presence in Albania has been and remains a reliable partner, in support of deep and comprehensive reforms, which have promoted and supported democratization and Euro-Atlantic integration.

Nikolla appreciated the contribution and achievements in advancing the electoral reform, strengthening the rule of law and the justice system, the fight against corruption, human trafficking and international and national threats to Albania and the region. Albania’s successful presidency during 2020 served as an experience for the success of its two-year mandate as an elected member of the UNSC.

The Speaker of the Assembly thanked the ambassadors for the support of Kosovo from their countries as well as from their missions to the OSCE.

The permanent representatives of the Quint countries evaluated the cooperation of Albania with the OSCE Presence so far, the achievements in the advancement and deepening of the reforms, focusing on the work being done for the electoral reform and the implementation of the recommendations of the ODIHR, justice reform, gender equality, the fight against corruption and organized crime.
