The Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Zoran Zaev, reiterated his stance that any interference with the country’s identity is “unacceptable”.

“In the 21st century, determining the history of another nation does not comply with the European spirit, because we need to build a future together”, said Zaev.

“For North Macedonia, for the Macedonian people, for all the citizens in our country, any interference with the Macedonian identity is unacceptable. The process is continuing for a long time, we don’t want to stop and we won’s stop, but we will not risk our dignity and identity”, added the Macedonian PM.

He said that he remains hopeful that a mutual agreement with Bulgaria is possible in order not to hamper the country’s path to the European Union.
