Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti declares that the May 2nd meeting in Brussel must ensure implementation on existing agreements between Kosovo and Serbia. In an interview to Croatian media ahead of the meeting with the Serbian President, Kurti says he hasn’t yet seen the final draft to be presented and negotiated in Brussel.
“I will be happy to see what kind of draft they’ve prepared. I will make sure that everything we agreed in Brussel on February 27th is fully implemented: the existence of a right self-governing of the Serb community according to the highest European standards for minority protection,” Kurti declared.
According to him, creating a structure that will serve as a satellite to Serbia, would have a destroying effect on Kosovo and the region.
“What we won’t allow is the right of territorialism and creating anything that would resemble the Republika Srpska in Bosnia and Hercegovina. We won’t allow a Serbian satellite with destructive elements, that would undermine the state of Kosovo,” the prime minister clarified.
Kurti says that his government’s stance won’t change and that sovereignty and territorial integrity of Kosovo can’t be harmed.
