Happiness for pensioners living in Albania seems far away, even less so for those living in villages.

Residents of the administrative unit of Novosela are not happy, some of the main factors for their unhappiness are the economic conditions and the departure of young people from the area.

The only opportunities to make a living are agriculture and animal husbandry, as they are dying out, as the years are weighing on their shoulders, but the lack of a market and a workforce also have a negative impact.

For them, the end-of-year bonus does not solve any problem and that most of them prefer a pension increase to cover the whole year.

“At home, most of the time at home and I am engaged in some personal activity, so, baking, farming, some coffee, no other kind of activity.”

Referring to a study conducted by Eurostat on happiness among the elderly, Albania is ranked among the last countries, leaving behind only African countries.
