The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of North Macedonia cited Article 9 of the Vienna Convention on diplomatic relations to declare a Russian diplomat “persona non-grata”.
In its official statement released to the media, it said the diplomat was declared persona non-grata due to “action going against the behavior of a foreign diplomat serving in a host country”.
Based on the decision dated May 14, authorities from the ministry summoned the ambassador of the Russian Federation to inform that the diplomat must leave the territory of North Macedonia within seven days.
