The municipal building in the north of Mitrovica was attacked with a hand grenade, last night in the late hours. The Kosovo Police confirms that there are no injuries, apart from the material damage caused to two official police cars.

The news was confirmed to KosovaPress by the spokesperson of the Kosovo Police, Baki Kelani.

“On 26.06.2023, in the late evening hours, from suspected persons was attacked the municipality in the North of Mitrovica with an explosive device. Based on official information, it is suspected that an explosive device, which is suspected to have been a hand grenade, was thrown in the yard of the municipal building in North Mitrovica, near the entrance of the building, and it caused some material damage to official vehicles. Fortunately, no human injuries were reported, apart from the material damage caused to two official police cars”, he declared.

In consultation with the competent prosecutor, the case of “committing a terrorist act” was initiated.
