Road accidents are not stopping the upward trajectory.

August has again set a new record with 173 road accidents, this figure is 48% higher than the same period of 2023.

According to the latest INSTAT report, in addition to accidents, the number of injured and victims involved in them has also increased.

In August 2024, there were a total of 252 accidents (killed and injured), with an increase of 40% compared to the same period a year ago.

The experts have pointed out that in the 8 months of the current year, a total of 1086 accidents were recorded, with an increase of 41% on an annual basis.

About 1,500 people were injured in these accidents, or 40% more than a year ago.

The fact that fatalities have decreased is positive, from 15.7 victims per 100 accidents in 2023 to 9.2 victims.

Road accidents, in 91.9% of cases, occurred as a result of the driver’s behavior.

The 25-34 age group continues to make up the majority of drivers who cause accidents.
