The number of construction permits issued and approved in the first quarter of the year has decreased compared to last year. In the figures, a total of 311 permits for new buildings are registered, out of 429 permits approved in the first quarter of 2023.

Even the area of ​​construction permits remains lower, even if we compare it with the last quarter of 2023, but also on an annual basis.

The area of ​​permits for new buildings, in the first quarter of 2024 is 358 thousand square meters, from 416 thousand that was in the first quarter of 2023, marking a decrease of 14%.

Referring to the districts, INSTAT data show that in Tirana the number of permits has increased by 38%, compared to the first quarter of last year.

Likewise, other counties that have seen growth, and are expected to open construction canisters are Elbasan, Gjirokastra and Vlora.

The approximate value of permits approved for buildings and engineering works this year is 13.6 billion ALL, from 21 billion ALL approved in the first quarter of 2023.
