The “Onufri” Iconography Museum now offers insights into its masterpieces through an audio-guide system available in four languages: Albanian, English, Italian, and German.

The pioneering initiative makes “Onufri” the first museum in Albania to harness technology for the exploration of national cultural treasures.

Visitors to the museum can access this audio-guide system for a nominal fee, enhancing their experience by delving into the remarkable heritage holdings of the “Onufri” Museum.

The museum’s collection is comprised of 200 carefully chosen items from the ecclesiastical and monastery archives in the Berat region. It predominantly features icons and a diverse range of liturgical artifacts. These artistic works span from the early 14th century to the beginning of the 20th century.

Among the standout pieces is the iconostasis of the Cathedral of the Dormition of the Virgin, crafted in 1807 by Albanian master woodcarvers. Additionally, the museum safeguards precious purple codices, which hold UNESCO protection.
