The German Embassy in Tirana, through a post on Facebook, reacted regarding the opposition protest and the incidents recorded during the gathering. The embassy expressed strong support for the European Union Delegation’s statement concerning the violence at the protest, describing it as unacceptable.

The statement further emphasized that the right to demonstrate can never justify violence against people or property. Among other points, the embassy added that political leaders must fulfill their responsibilities.

“The German Embassy strongly supports the statement of the EU Delegation regarding the unacceptable violence during the recent protests.

Political protest and the right to demonstrate can never justify violence against people or property. Political leaders must fulfill their responsibility to ensure peaceful coexistence in a democracy,” the statement reads.
