The head of the EU Office in Kosovo, Aivo Orav, after the meeting with the mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama, emphasized the commitment to bring Kosovo closer to the European Union.

Orav underlined that the EU, as the biggest donor in Kosovo, is supporting projects in various fields such as education, health and waste management.

“It was nice to talk with the Mayor and also with his team, to learn more about Pristina, about the problems, about the challenges and also to learn how the EU and the municipality can work more closely together. Because the goal is to bring Kosovo closer to the European Union as soon as possible. The EU is the biggest donor here in Kosovo”, says Orav.

The mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama, stated that the capital has taken steps to fulfill the tasks required by the EU, focusing on infrastructural and cultural developments.

“We discussed the challenges we have as a capital and the opportunities for cooperation, especially in investments, now in the museum, the concert hall, the ways we can overcome the current problems, in order to create real spaces for the art community, culture, education, health and for various spheres in the capital… We have taken steps to fulfill all the tasks given to us by the European community as the capital, perhaps even before time because we have the opportunity”, said Përparim Rama.

Orav and Rama visited several important facilities in Pristina, such as Sahat Kulla and “TechPark” in Bërnica, where Orav got to know the startups supported by the EU, discussing the development of the technological sector in the country.
