A record number of new infections was registered in Kosovo on Thursday as 1,009 citizens tested positive for COVID-19.

Authorities say that the majority of the new infections were detected among young people as they urge citizens to get the jab in order to avoid severe symptoms.
As of Thursday, over 539,750 vaccine doses have been administered, with 183,240 getting both jabs.
Another concerning figure is that of active cases, estimated at more than 4,400.
