During the past week, 12,607 drivers have been fined by the Tirana Traffic Police for violating traffic rules.

The police have carried out checks on all road axes.

12 people were arrested or prosecuted at large for driving while drunk or without a driving license, as well as for violating traffic rules.

The focus of the checks was mainly on those drivers who park incorrectly causing heavy traffic, those who drive faster than the permitted rates and those who overtake incorrectly, becoming a source of accidents.

Drivers of vehicles, among other things, were punished with an administrative measure, for using a mobile phone, for not giving priority to pedestrians on white lines, as well as for not wearing a seat belt.

The traffic police of Tirana appeals to all drivers to respect the traffic rules in order not to become a potential risk for involvement in traffic incidents.
