The co-rapporteurs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), Ionuț-Marian Stroe (Romania, EPP/CD) and Paweł Jabłoński (Poland, ECPA), will carry out a fact-finding visit to Albania from March 30 to April 1, in the context of the post-monitoring dialogue with the country.
According to the official website of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, during their visit to Tirana, they will discuss recent political developments and assess the progress made by Albania in implementing the Assembly’s recommendations, as outlined in Resolution 2544 (2024).
“They will meet with the Prime Minister, the Speaker of Parliament, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Justice and Interior, as well as the Minister of State for Anti-Corruption and Public Administration.
Meetings are also planned with various parliamentary committees, the ad hoc parliamentary committee on Electoral Reform, the Albanian delegation to PACE, heads of parliamentary groups, as well as representatives of judicial authorities, the Ombudsman’s Office, the international community, civil society and the media.
The Parliamentary Assembly decided to close the full monitoring procedure concerning Albania in April 2024 and to engage in a post-monitoring dialogue with the country, a less intensive procedure that involves a limited number of remaining issues to be addressed,” the statement said.
