The Constitutional Court suspends in the Assembly the ratification of the agreement with Italy for migrants.

The Constitutional Court has announced that it has considered the lawsuit filed by the opposition MPs against the agreement with Italy for migrants.

This decision of the Constitutional Court comes at a time when the socialist majority had planned to approve the agreement in this Thursday’s session.

In this way, the ratification procedure in the Assembly of the agreement with Italy is automatically suspended.

Holta Zacaj, after the decision in a communication with journalists, informed that this decision-making will be immediately notified to the Assembly, which is obliged to interrupt the parliamentary procedures for ratification in the plenary session.

The “Constitutionalist” has decided only on the complaint made by the 30 DP deputies, including Gazmend Bardhi and former prime minister Sali Berisha.

Although a complaint signed by Lulzim Basha has been submitted to the Constitutional Court, the Constitutional Court has not yet considered it.

Meanwhile, the suspension of the Italy-Albania agreement by the Albanian Court has immediately become the main news in the neighboring country’s media.

Ansa, La Reppublica and Corriere Della Sera have reported the decision of the highest court in Albania. While “la Stampa” considers the decision as a “cold shower” for Prime Minister Meloni’s government.

“A European idiocy”, considered the Italian deputy of the Greens, Angelo Bonelli, the pact between the two prime ministers. While the senator Ivan Scalfarotto reacted after the decision of the Albanian court, stressing that “when shortcuts are chosen against the principles of international law, sooner or later the problems return home”.
