Nisma Thurje’s Pano Sako stated during the panel discussion of Ilva Now that SMI’s mandates in these elections have gone in the Democratic Party’s favor.

He argued that the strategy chosen by SMI to stay on DP’s side paved the way for the liquidation of its votes.

“SMI’s mandates have gone to DP, but they have created very little new electorate. The strategy chosen by SMI to support DP created all the ambiguity that brought about the loss of votes. SMI’s only charm is it being a party in power,” he said.

Regarding the Socialist Party’s performance, Soko pointed out that this party has retained its mandates because it has deformed the vote.

He added that in Durres the votes were bought, by distributing money two days before the elections, to those suffering from the earthquake aftermath, whereas in terms of Tirana, Soko argued that the scheme of guaranteeing jobs and employment has been used in return for votes.

“SP has retained its mandates because it received deformed votes. In Durres, money for the earthquake started to be distributed since Friday. This is a straightforward use of power in return for the vote. In Durres it was bought, in Tirana it was done by guaranteeing jobs. So, through employment,” concluded Soko.
