Armando Broja appears to have successfully overcome the major scare from the injury he suffered in the match against England, where he left the pitch on a stretcher in tears after a severe twist to his ankle. The Albanian national team striker has not only recovered, but according to Burnley manager Scott Parker, he may be ready for this weekend’s Premier League match against Chelsea.
Broja was injured just a few minutes after coming onto the field, causing significant concern due to his history of serious injuries in recent years. However, the situation has turned out to be much more positive than initially feared.
“He’s fine. It’s not as bad as it looked in the first moment, and he actually looks good,” Parker told the media. “I hope Armando will be ready for the weekend. He trained on the pitch on Wednesday and today. We’ll see how he reacts tomorrow, but so far everything looks positive.”
The English coach explained that the injury was in the ankle and that Broja’s fear came from the fact that the area was the same as a previous serious injury.
“At first he felt pain and was understandably shaken, as it looked like it could be something serious. But the situation calmed down very quickly. It’s a minimal injury, very small, so it seems like we dodged a bullet,” said Parker, admitting that Burnley were afraid of another long absence for the Albanian striker.
This is very good news both for the club and for the National Team, as Broja avoids yet another setback in his career.
