The Alliance of Parliamentary Women, through a statement to the media, has condemned the behavior of democratic MPs Gazment Bardhi and Flamur Noka towards MP Flutura Açka the day before in the Media Commission.

“The Alliance of Parliamentary Women strongly condemns the violence and intimidation perpetrated yesterday in the Committee on Education and Media against the Chairperson Mrs. Flutura Açka and our fellow members of parliament in this committee!

Violence is an act that shows desperation. Users of violence openly show their inability to accept that there is a different opinion, a different attitude.

Violence against women is to no longer understand the most important human qualities and enter a tunnel of darkness.

We women MPs express our deep indignation for what happened yesterday as well as for the whole climate of lynching and beating women and we demand that the perpetrators of this violence be brought to justice.

We believe in the politics of reason, reason and clear arguments, and we reject the darkness of the irrational, the violence that comes as a result of the lack of arguments.

We condemn the violent acts and we hope that not only they will not be repeated, but that the Assembly will return to normality and all the deputies will do the duty for which the citizens have voted.

We assure the Albanian citizens and in particular the Albanian women that we will continue to be their voice in the Parliament of Albania and we will reject and confront every act of violence and everything  that inspires violence against women,” it said in the statement distributed to the media.
