Party, Leader, Program, or Interest? Here’s What Affects Albanian Voters’ Choices

The latest survey from Barometri – Euronews Albania has posed questions to Albanian citizens, examining the factors that influence their vote.

1,000 citizens were questioned face-to-face by Datacentrum, and based on their responses, they ranked the most important factors influencing their political choices, including the party, the leader, the candidate, the program, family, personal interests, and rewards for votes.

The majority, 84.6%, indicated that the party is the primary factor for Albanian citizens when making political decisions.

At similar levels, 82.6% stated that the leader is a very important factor for Albanian citizens when deciding to vote.

73% believe that the candidate for parliament is an important factor for Albanian citizens when choosing whom to vote for.

67% of those surveyed consider rewards (such as employment or promises for various favors) as significant factors influencing their vote.

64% of respondents said that the program is important when making the decision to vote.

63% said that family is another important and influential factor in their vote.

56.7% also indicated that monetary gain for votes, or the buying and selling of votes, is an important factor for Albanian citizens when deciding who to vote for.
