Members of Parliament from the Democratic Party of Albania in the Foreign Affairs Committee have requested a hearing with Prime Minister Edi Rama. The Democratic MPs have called for an urgent meeting with the prime minister regarding the situation in the Middle East and the measures the government has taken.

“We, a group of MPs and members of the Committee on European Affairs and Foreign Policy, have followed with concern the latest developments in the Middle East and the escalation of attacks in the region. Considering the rapid and unpredictable developments in that area and the possibility of further escalation, in accordance with Article 32, point 2, and Article 36, point 1 of the Rules of Procedure of Parliament, we request that the Committee on European Affairs and Foreign Policy convene a hearing session with Prime Minister Edi Rama on March 9, 2026.
The purpose of this session is to receive information on the measures taken to ensure the safety of Albanian citizens living in risk-affected areas, as well as an assessment of the potential threats to our country and the level of cooperation with allies in response to these circumstances.”
