PD Protest in Front of the Prime Minister’s Office, U.S. Embassy Responds

The U.S. Embassy in Tirana has reacted regarding the protest by the Democratic Party (PD), which is scheduled to take place this Monday in front of the Prime Minister’s Office. The U.S. Embassy has advised its personnel to avoid the protest.

In its statement, the Embassy further listed several recommendations to avoid the protest or any tensions that may arise from the gathering.

“A protest is planned to take place on Monday, December 22, 2025, at 18:00. Protesters plan to gather near the Prime Minister’s Office building, located on ‘Dëshmorët e Kombit’ Boulevard, between Mother Teresa Square and Skanderbeg Square.

An increased police presence, road closures, and traffic disruptions are expected. The Albanian State Police have announced that protesters may block intersections in various parts of the city of Tirana.

U.S. Embassy personnel have been advised to avoid the protest. Follow local media and comply with instructions from local law enforcement authorities for the latest information.
