High-rise buildings are now also being concentrated along the coastline, while in Tirana this has already become a common phenomenon. The last three meetings of the National Territorial and Water Council (KKTU) have included on their agendas a series of projects reaching up to 67 floors in Tirana, while along the coast, constructions exceeding 20 floors are becoming increasingly frequent.
In the capital, the projects are being developed in various parts of the city, but the largest is located in the area of the New Boulevard, where a complex of towers ranging from 33 to 67 floors will be built. At least six such towers are expected to be developed in this area. Likewise, two other buildings exceeding 30 floors are planned for the Ali Demi neighborhood.
After the concentration of such projects in Tirana, Vlora has become another city where “towers” are taking shape. The latest projects approved by the KKTU there also include the word “Tower” in their names.
Meanwhile, the Qerret area — traditionally characterized by low-rise buildings and residential complexes — is expected to see the construction of several multi-story hotel structures. A similar approach is being taken in the northern region, where in Shkodër and Lezhë, several projects affecting the coastal area and involving relatively tall buildings have been approved.
