The head of the Office for Kosovo in the Government of Serbia, Petar Petkovic, said on Thursday that with the swearing in of the new mayors in the municipalities in the north of Kosovo, the occupation of four municipalities has been formalized.

“The occupation has never been a permanent situation in history, therefore it will not be even in the four municipalities in the north of Kosovo, and it will end soon, however, the Serbian people, more than the occupation of [Kosovo Prime Minister, Albin] “Kurti will remember the shameful way fake democracies gave the green light for something like this,” Petkovic said on Thursday.

The new mayors of the municipalities in the north of Kosovo, all Albanians, were sworn in on May 19 and 25, writes REL.

The municipalities in the north, North Mitrovica, Zvecani, Leposaviqi and Zubin Potoku, are inhabited by a majority of Serbs.

The mayor of North Mitrovica is Erden Atiç from the ‘Levizja Vetvendosje’, while the deputy mayor of the municipality is Katarina Agjançiç from the Serbian community.
