After my death, move the library to Albania. This was among the last requests of archaeologist and epigraphist Pierre Canane.
About 15,000 books, publications and manuscripts of the personal library of the French historian and archaeologist Pierre Cabanes, now belong to the fund of Albania’s national library. His scientific contribution in the field of archeology and epigraphy will be at the service of every reader or historian and researcher.
The new space was opened in the premises of the library in the presence of the French ambassador in Tirana, who expressed her country’s support for cultural heritage.
Pierre Cabanes’ first contacts with Albania began in 1965 in his doctorate, “Epirus from the death of Pyrrhus to the Roman conquest”.
