The Special Prosecutor’s Office (SPAK) has sent the Socialist MP Plarent Ndreca a summons on Thursday to get acquainted with the accusation of violation of equality in tenders.

Journalist Eni Ferhati said in a direct link to Euronews Albania that Ndreca will not present himself at the Special Prosecutor’s Office this Friday, while his lawyer, Ermal Yzeiraj, will receive the communication of the accusation.

“Responding to the broad public interest, we inform you that on 25.10.2024, the defendant, Plarent Ndreca, was notified, through his lawyer, of the completion of the investigations for criminal proceedings no. 240/2021 for the criminal offense “Violation of the equality of participants in public tenders or auctions”, provided by articles 258 and 25 of the Criminal Code”, says the SPAK announcement.

Ferhati said that for this file investigated by the Special Prosecutor’s Office after a report from the State Supreme Audit, it is expected that there will be more than 10 people who will be charged with the violation of equality in tenders and public auctions.

This will include members of the bid committee, the procurement unit that carried out the procedures for the tender in question, also former officials of the Ministry of the Interior headed at that time by Sandër Lleshi, starting with the cabinet director, but also other people who were related to this procurement procedure.

We recall that a few months ago, the minister Sandër Lleshi himself was asked about this issue.

Journalist Ferhati said that according to the investigations in this matter, the name of a senior Rama government official, former Deputy Minister of Urban Development, John Radovani, is also mentioned.

Radovani appears in the file as a shareholder of the firm that won the tender and was favored by the Ministry of the Interior. However, it is not known if he will be charged with violating equality in tenders.
