The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, welcomed the Director of the CIA, William Burns, in a meeting today.
Through an announcement distributed to the media, the government of Kosovo assessed the visit of the head of the CIA to Kosovo as an “important historical moment” in the relations between Kosovo and the USA.
“It is evidence of strong and stable relations between the two states and is a golden opportunity to deepen strategic cooperation, for peace and security in the region and beyond,” said the announcement of the Kosovo executive, published on social networks.
Security, intelligence institutions and the Government of Kosovo were said to be committed to advancing cooperation with the CIA.
“Prime Minister Kurti thanked the director of the CIA for his continuous support and expressed his commitment to deepening cooperation in areas of common interest”, the announcement states.
The meeting between Kurti and Burns in Kosovo took place after the Kosovar Prime Minister was in the United States of America, where, at the invitation of the National Democratic Institute, he closely followed the National Assembly of the Democratic Party.
