Kosovo Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, does not consider the idea of an international conference for Kosovo and Serbia as a potential solution to the tensions between Kosovo and Serbia, but says that the solution is the implementation of the agreement reached in Brussels.

“We have had international conferences in the past and now we have a basic agreement, from February 27 of this year in Brussels and also from March 18 in Ohrid with the implementation annex”, said Kurti, during a visit to Prizren.

“All that needs to be done is to unconditionally implement that basic agreement in its entirety and in a fair and balanced way. This must be done, and we commit to this in Brussels in the meetings we have”, he added.

The idea of holding an international conference for Kosovo and Serbia was revealed on June 27 by prime minister of Albania, Edi Rama. That day, Rama talked in Brussels with high European officials, including the president of the European Council, Charles Michel, who supported this idea.

“I think the time has come to have a global approach and take clear steps towards the normalization of Kosovo-Serbia relations”, said Michel on June 29.
