The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, just one day after the vote on the report on Kosovo in the Council of Europe, indirectly commented on the post of the Serbian President, Aleksandar Vučić, who warned of ‘apocalyptic’ developments.

According to Kurti, the situation is quite different from what Vučić warned him about.

“We are on the right track and it is clear that despite the apocalyptic warnings from Belgrade, there are practically no incidents on the ground,” Kurti said.

The Prime Minister also spoke about Kosovo’s progress towards the Council of Europe, but also about the dinar.

“It is very good news for Europe, for the Albanian nation, for democracy that in this geopolitical and historical era the Russian Federation is outside and the Republic of Kosovo is entering. It is a kind of great gratitude and understanding for the citizens of our country who are joining this respected European and world institution”, said Kurti.

Kurti insists that the issue of the dinar is regulated by the CBK, despite the fact that there were meetings in Brussels on this issue.

“For membership in the Council of Europe, we are led by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for the issue of the euro as the only currency as a means of payment in Kosovo, we are led by the Central Bank of Kosovo, it has made the decision on the new regulation, it has ten-step quarterly transition plan. We will support this plan to the extent that the executive with its own department is required”, said Kurti.

He made these comments after the tributes at the cemeteries of those killed in the Bogujevci, Duriqi and Llugaliu families in Podujevë.
