During an interview for the British Financial Times, the head of the Albanian government, Edi Rama, said that Jared Kushner has asked to invest in Sazan, without an intermediary, unlike in the case of Serbia.
The ambitious project of Donald Trump’s son-in-law, which was rumored in March of this year, continues to attract the curiosity of foreign media.
During the interview, the head of the Albanian government said that this project aims to promote elite tourism in Albania.
Once a military zone, the render photos of the ‘eco-resort’ project, intertwined with the natural beauty of the Albanian Mediterranean island, Kushner’s resort, according to Rama, will turn into a destination, where a tourist will spend almost 100 times more than an ordinary tourist.
Close to 5 kilometers of coastline and 1,400 hectares of land, the Sazan resort is included in the investment portfolio of Kushner’s company, which foresees investments of over 1 billion dollars in Southwestern Europe.
As for the Serbian plan, Rama says that it was Richard Grenell, America’s special envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, who mediated and initiated the demands for development between Kushner and the Serbian government.
“We need luxury, just like desert needs water”, says Rama. A statement which goes back to the goals of the Albanian leader to develop the most elite tourism in Albania.
