Prime Minister Edi Rama held a meeting with the President of the United Emirates, Sheikh Muhammed Bin Zayed, on Monday evening. The meeting took place in Baku, Azerbaijan, where the head of government is participating in the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) of the United Nations Convention on Climate Change.
Through a post on social networks this Tuesday, Rama informs that during this meeting they discussed several important projects that are expected to be realized, which will contribute to the strengthening and modernization of the public sector in Albania.
“Last night I had the opportunity to meet the President of the United Emirates, Sheikh Muhammed Bin Zayed, a special friend and great supporter of Albania. We discussed the advancement of several important projects that are in the implementation phase, such as the creation of joint companies for energy production (KESH-Mazdar), the development of the interconnection line with Italy and the creation of a digital system for traffic control. These are important steps for the modernization of the public sector in Albania”, writes Rama on social networks.
The Summit of World Leaders on Climate Action, the main event of COP29, takes place on 12-13 November 2024. One of the main objectives of this summit is to reach an agreement on climate finance and efforts to meet the global warming goal of 1.5°C.
These initiatives aim to help climate finance and efforts to combat climate change, through the development of green energy, energy storage and the advancement of new technologies, such as clean hydrogen and green digital actions.
