Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama was one of the guest speakers at the World Policy Conference held on Friday in Abu Dhabi, where he spoke about global challenges.
He mentioned the need for a joint war against the pandemic and greater efforts to halt the pace of climate change.
In terms of solidarity, PM Rama reiterated that Albania once again showed its worth when it decided to take in Afghan citizens fleeing the Taliban, while the rest of Europe dodged this responsibility.
“First of all, we did it to honor our history and tradition. Secondly, we’re not wealthy, but our memories cannot be short-lived. We were the Afghans of thirty years ago. Thirdly, we did it because we owe that to our children”, said PM Edi Rama.
