Prime Minister Edi Rama today held a high-level meeting with accredited ambassadors in Tirana for the process of deepening the reforms of good governance, rule of law and anti-corruption.
Rama responded to the accusations of attempts to block SPAK (Special Prosecutors’ Office) and justice reform through the Special Anticorruption Commission headed by Fatmir Xhafaj, stressing that the only force that made justice reform possible is SP.
“We have heard such accusations that they have a dark plan to block SPAK and reverse the justice reform, and when I mention SPAK and justice, there are many sensitivities and forces that commit themselves to immediately defend themselves.
The SP, the force that governs the country since 2013, is the leading force of justice reform and without the absolute conviction and iron will of the SP, not America, not Europe, but everyone else together, would not be able to make this reform possible. There is no question that without the support of strategic allies this reform would have had a different path and would have been impossible, but it should be clear to everyone that we have no time to lose. For Albania to join the EU, 157 institutions of the country that have specific tasks must perform at the same speed”, said Rama.
