June 10 is defined as the opening of the summer season in Pogradec. Preparations this year have started very early and expectations are high.

Oksana Merruko, hotel manager, says that this year’s bookings have started earlier than in previous years, and an increase in foreign tourists, from Europe to Canada, is noticeable.

One of the most attractive elements for tourists in Pogradec, in addition to nature and the lake, is cooking. For 1 year, Fatjon Likollari has opened a restaurant in which he has adapted to year-round tourism, even with the menu he offers for every season.

Artistic-cultural activities, sports but also the extension of tourism through maps and guides in mountainous areas are the forms that the city municipality will use to extend the days of stay of tourists in Pogradec.

Meanwhile, for this year, the organization of international motorcycle events, a running marathon or the Balkan film festival, these activities are expected to bring tourists from more than 25 countries of the world to the city.
