Poland supports Albania’s membership in the European Union. This is the guarantee given by Polish President Andrzej Duda, during a joint press conference with his Albanian counterpart, Bajram Begaj in Tirana.

President Duda said that Albania’s membership as well as that of other Western Balkan countries, will be a priority during the Polish EU presidency, set to start in 2025.

“I guaranteed our support to the President. On May 1st there was a conference, in which we emphasized Poland’s role when it takes the EU presidency, that will happen in 2025. We have already set our priorities. We will work on economic relations and we will push forward with the European integration for Ukraine and the Western Balkans, including Albania,” said the Polish president.

He also appreciated Albania’s contributions to important military missions around the world.

“We thank you for your presence in the Eastern side of NATO. Albania is a very active member of NATO. Albanian soldiers are dispatched in Latvia and we are grateful for that. I asked President Begaj for Albania’s support in other military missions,” declared Duda.
