The Kosovo police are continuing to add control measures all around the territory in order to monitor the correct implementation of the new restrictions that have been put in place by the government only a few days ago.
The new health protocol requires all citizens to wear a protective mask in all indoor venues.
Through a press communication, the police also asked for the collaboration of both citizens and businesses, while inviting them to exercise vigilance in complying with all restrictive measures.
Police forces also noted that all those found without a mask will be penalized with the applicable administrative measure.
Throughout the month of August, Kosovo saw a sharp rise in infections and according to medical professionals this is directly linked to the spread of the Delta variant.
Since the outbreak of the pandemic, a total of 2.279 citizens unfortunately lost their lives to COVID-19 in Kosovo, with thousands of others contracting the virus.
Authorities invite citizens to not hesitate heading to the closest health centre in order to get the shot against the coronavirus.
