One in every two Albanians didn’t go on summer vacation this year. Of the 50% that didn’t go on vacation this summer, the majority represent low-income families or seniors, over 65.
These were the findings of the most recent poll conducted by Euronews Albania’s weekly show ‘Barometer’. When asked if they went on vacation this summer, 49.7% of respondents said ‘no’ and 10.3% said ‘they would only go away on the weekends’.
Of the percentage that couldn’t go on vacation, the poll found that 65.4%-77.2% are seniors or persons from a low-income group.
On the other hand, 30.4% of respondents said that they ‘did go on holiday’ whereas 9.6% said they ‘will continue to’.
The poll was conducted during the second half of August 2021, including face-to-face interviews with 1000 citizens from urban and rural areas, over the age of 18.
