Albanian population has increased during the 2nd 3rd month of this year.

The last report of the Institute of Statistics has highlighted that in this period there were 465 births more than deaths, making the natural increase of the population to be positive.

According to official data, 5,119 babies were born from April to June. This figure is 8.2% lower than the same period of the previous year.

District with the highest number of births is Tirana with 1,846 births, while the district with the lowest number remains Gjirokastra with 84 births.

The largest increase in the percentage of births, during the second quarter of 2023, compared to the second quarter of 2022, is the region of Vlora with 2.4%, while the largest decrease is the region of Berat with 19.2%.

Fatalities during this period have decreased. According to INSTAT, the district with the lowest number of deaths is Kukësi with 97 deaths, while the district with the highest number is Tirana with 1,147 deaths. The largest decrease in the percentage of deaths during the second quarter of 2023, compared to the same period of 2022, is occupied by the county of Durrës with a decrease of 17.6%.
