Demographic developments in recent years show that Albania may lose 14% of its population by 2054. The prediction was made in the latest report of the United Nations Organization.

The future of Albania is bleak, in the forecasts for the progress of the population. The United Nations Organization, in its projections, expects Albanian country to lose 14% of its inhabitants in the next 30 years. This rate ranks us among the 5 countries with the biggest decline, along with Bosnia, Lithuania, Puerto Rico and Moldova.

The UN considers migration and births, where it refers to women of reproductive age giving birth to fewer and fewer children, bringing the replacement rate to levels that prevent demographic growth.

On the other hand, in countries such as Brazil, Iran and Turkey, the population will increase by about 5% until 2054, and it is likely that the trend of population increase will affect 126 countries.

But Albania can maintain its population within the country, which today is 2.4 million inhabitants, if it manages to create employment opportunities with competitive wages and sustainable policies in education, health and security.
