Former American diplomats are visiting Albania, as part of a regional tour of data gathering. The visits are scheduled in three Western Balkan countries, Albania, Kosovo and North Macedonia.

Albanian President Bajram Begaj welcomed them in Tirana and informed them on the reforms done in the country and measures taken for the consolidation of democratic institutions and the rule of law.

President Begaj especially highlighted the contribution Albania has given towards peace, stability and building good neighborly relations in the region.

The EU membership is the biggest strategic priority of Albania, Begaj told the American diplomats.

They also discussed developments from the war in Ukraine, as well as the contribution Albania has given in the UN Security Council.
