Socialist Party leader Edi Rama has reacted to the refutation made by U.S. President Donald Trump’s son against the Democratic Party (DP) spokesman, Alfred Lela, regarding an article that discussed a supposed meeting between Trump Jr. and the Albanian Prime Minister.

During a campaign event held in Petrelë, Rama described the situation as “shameful” and called it a “DP madness.”

“When you see that members of the U.S. President’s family are forced to deny this madness, it’s truly shameful. At the end of the day, no one there knows or recognizes these people, except for those who pay $6 million to be recognized. If even Lymi of Tyti paid $6 million, Latif would come and introduce him to everyone,” Rama said.

According to media outlets close to the Democratic Party, Donald Trump Jr. had canceled a lunch in Tirana with Rama, allegedly arranged through lobbying efforts by Richard Grenell.
