The presidential elections in Montenegro will be held on March 19, the speaker of Parliament, Danijela Gjurovic, has decided.
Djurovic also announced that the presidential elections will take place in accordance with the law.
If none of the potential candidates receives more than half of the votes in the first round of voting, the second round will be held after 14 days.
As it became known, the issue that was raised in public about the simultaneous holding of the elections for MPs in the Parliament of Montenegro and the elections for the President does not depend on the Speaker of Parliament.
According to the Constitution of Montenegro, the mandate of MPs lasts four years, which means that regular elections for MPs in the Parliament of Montenegro must be held in 2024.
