Prices in Albania increased by 4.7% in October, unlike the European Union, which affected inflation at the level of 3.6%.
After 2022, inflation began to stabilize throughout Europe, but in Albania the pace is slower, and this is influenced by the structure of Albanian economy, with the problems faced mainly by the production sector.
Last year, the price index in Albania was 8%, while in the EU it was 11.5%, but as inflation in Europe softened due to the decrease in energy prices, in Albania it is staying above the 3% target due to high prices of food and entertainment. Economy has increased in with sector of concerts, sports events and visits to cultural sites.
Last year, Albania was ranked among the countries with the lowest inflation in the region and in Europe, but in September, it equaled that of the EU and reversed a month later. The government and the Bank of Albania expect prices to reach the target by the middle of 2023.
