Prime Minister Edi Rama held a meeting this Thursday with Pope Leo XIV. During the meeting, Rama was accompanied by his wife, Linda Rama, and their son.

It is reported that a subsequent meeting took place at the Secretariat of State of the Holy See with Cardinal Pietro Parolin and Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher.

“In the cordial discussions, the good existing relationship between the Holy See and the Republic of Albania was highlighted, and topics of mutual interest were addressed, particularly those concerning relations between the ecclesiastical community and civil society,” the Press Office of the Holy See announced.

Among the central topics of the talks were also key regional issues, including the situation in the Western Balkan countries and Albania’s path toward full integration into the European Union.
