Lawyer Anton Kosteri in Shkodra, through a press statement, announces a request of the prisoners in the prison of Reç, who call on the members of Parliament, mainly those of the opposition, to vote for amnesty.

Amnesty is a draft law proposed by the Minister of Justice, which aims to release some categories of prisoners from prison.

The lawyer said that the deputies who vote for this draft law will win not only the consent of the prisoners, but of the entire Albanian people.

He has also published the letter that the prisoners sent him to make public, for the request for amnesty.

“The prisoners have addressed a petition to the deputies, specifically those of the opposition, to approve the amnesty. The prisoners have asked me to submit this request as a sign of humanity and to leave behind any kind of political division and for the deputies to go and vote for amnesty in Parliament.

Voting on the draft law on amnesty will separate that deputy from all thoughts that a certain side may have an interest, which they do not think at all. Those MPs who vote for this law will win the preference not only of the prisoners but of the entire Albanian people.

We ask the deputies to be responsible and vote for it. We will also send this request to the Parliament to be voted on as soon as possible. The prisoners demand that the amnesty include the reduction of the sentence to a minimum of two years, and the second the convicted person to be considered the person whose decision has become final until the day the law enters into force”, said lawyer Kosteri.
