Private dental care in Albania are cheap for foreigners, but expensive for Albanians. In an interview for Euronews Albania, the pedagogy of Dentistry Belisa Pilafi Kaleci, states that the dental care has costs that vary from the material, the location of the clinic and the doctor.

“Regarding the cost of services, the recent development of dental tourism shows that the figures are relatively low compared to countries in the region. When we think of families with average Albanian income, it is a relatively expensive service. If we refer to the market for a simple filling, the prices vary from 2,500 to 3,000 lek”, said Belisa Pilafi Kaleci.

But pedagogy clarifies that private or public dental care is a choice, but what citizens should do is prevention.

“Most of the diseases that affect the oral cavity, or the mouth, or the oral health of the teeth, are easily preventable with simple measures and according to the figures published by the World Health Organization, the Albanian population is able to obtain the basic kit for the maintenance of oral health”, said Belisa Pilafi Kaleci.

The biggest oral health problem in Albania is damage to the teeth since childhood.

Global report published by the World Health Organization in 2022 indicates that 50% of the population has a problem with oral health
