The hot summer weather has caused several problematic fires in Gjirokastra, causing the mayor of Gjirokastër, Flamur Golemi, to react to the created situation.

In a post on social networks, Mayor Golemi asked residents not to play with fire.

“We have entered a period of high temperatures. My prayer and call goes out to everyone, especially the residents in rural areas, not to play with fire”, says the mayor of Gjirokastra. According to him, “maximum care is needed to avoid any possible danger, to protect life and property”.

At noon today in the village of Erind, Lunxheri, a problematic fire was registered again in the pastures, which threatened the lives and property of citizens. The Fire Service appeals for the prevention of summer fires and the avoidance of their damage.
