The Chairman of the Central Election Commission, Ilirjan Celibashi, on a statement for the media communicated that in 205 polling stations the electronic identification device is configured, but cannot automatically receive information from them in real time.
He clarified that in 532 polling stations they did not receive any information.
“This means, either in all these polling stations the PEi does not work, it works partially, or it works completely, but we do not have this data through the system and we are communicating with these voting centers, both with the operators and with members of the voting center committee to get information if the process is being developed there through PEi or manually. So, there are 532 voting centers for which, in the worst case, it is assumed that the identification is not being done through the electronic identification device. We understand very well the importance of this issue, but this is the situation. We have tried to improve as much as possible, with the human resources we had to change the situation,” said Celibashi.
He also clarified that they will wait for more time in the hope that this will fix.
