Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis was asked about Greek-Albanian relations after the opening of the 88th Thessaloniki International Fair.

After the release of Fredi Beleri from prison, Greece has set another condition for Albania not to obstruct the EU membership path. It is about the issue of properties.

For the journalists, Mitsotakis said that he wants to have good relations with Albania, but he emphasized the property issue. He said that respecting property rights will be a condition for Albania’s integration into the EU.

“The relations between Greece and Albania, which we want to be very good, go from respecting the rights of the Greek national minority of Albania. The issue of property rights has never left our agenda.

It is coming back and what we will do is to ensure, with the help of Fredi Beleri in the European Parliament, that the property rights of our compatriots in Albania are fully respected. And I would say that this is a necessary condition for Albania to continue walking on its European path”, said Mitsotakis.

Asked about relations with Prime Minister Rama, Greek Prime Minister Grek said: “We want the best possible relations with all our neighbors and among these neighbors is Albania.”
