Mayor of Puka, Gjon Gjonaj, declared earlier today that vaccination for the public employees that fall under his jurisdiction will be mandatory.
As of today, all government employees in the municipality of Puka, will have to present a vaccination certificate to go to work. Whoever doesn’t get vaccinated, will have to undergo weekly tests.
Through a video posted on the official Facebook page of the Municipality of Puka, Gjonaj has called on all citizens to get vaccinated in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
According to him, Albanian citizens are generally behind on taking preventive measures against COVID-19. Gjonaj also noted that everyone should take it upon themselves to get vaccinated, if they take the current situation into consideration, without the need for advertising or propaganda.
“We should give up on those voices that are poisonous for our conscience and they are poisonous for our understanding of the concept of vaccination,” – declared the mayor of Puka.
